About the Programme/course
The degree programme in Film and Television Sound Production is unique and was the first such course in SSS Africa and one of the best in the world in its special field of sound production for the screen.
The programme is designed to equip students with a broad understanding of film, and training in the analysisof sound problems together with a set of practical skills required in professional sound production for film,television and animation.
It provides great value to those wishing to enter the industry as sound professionals. The programme equips students with the skills, knowledge and understanding which enables them to compete on morethan an equal footing with other similarly motivated sound professionals, by training them not only in the recording techniques and intellectual practices they require, but also the analytical, professional and philosophical strategies which will help them in their careers.
If you anticipated to enter the film and television industry or generally the media working as a professional soundman (sound recordist, sound editor, mixer, sound designer and supervisor) on feature films (fiction and non-fiction), television productions (drama, TV commercials, talk shows, entertainments, educational and promotional programmes) and computer animations, this course will equip you with the background and skills you require.
Structure of programme
Level 100 and 200
Students are taught the entire general and introductory courses in film as a preparatory ground for their
understanding of film and video production before they brunch into their areas of speciality.
This will also allow the student to comprehend the components of filmmaking. Some of the courses

Support to students
NAFTI has a wide range of support services for students to facilitate their learning activities which includes:
a well stock library with books in all the areas of specialisation in TV production, Film Production, Animation,
Sound, Art Direction, Editing and Photography.
There are also books on marketing, psychology, African studies etc. The school also has a number of computers connected to the internet for research work and viewing cubicles for students to access.
Each student is assigned to a tutor/counselor to provide personal guidance and professional advice related to the practice and student.
Admission requirements:

General Certificate of Education: 'O' Level Passes with credits in 5 subjects (including English Language, Mathematics, an Arts subject and a Science subject) and 3 passes at 'A' Level. At least one of the 'A' Level passes should be a grade D or better. A pass in General Paper is necessary.

Senior High School Certificate: Passes in four core subjects, namely English, Mathematics, Science or Integrated Science and Social Studies or Life Skills and any three relevant elective subjects, with an aggregate score of not more than 24 in the WASSEC, West Africa Senior High School Certificate Examinations.

Entrance Examination: Candidates will be required to pass a written paper and an interview.
