ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission To Degree and Postgraduate Diploma Programmes – August 2012

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for admission to four-year professional Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree Programme in Film and Television Production at NAFTI. The Degree Programmes are run by NAFTI in affiliation with the University of Ghana, Legon.

● Editing
● Art Direction

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A. General Certificate of Education: ‘O’ Level Passes with credits in 5 subjects (including English Language, Mathematics, an Arts subject and a Science subject) and 3 passes at ‘A’ Level. 
At least one of the ‘A’ Level passes should be a grade D or better. A pass in General Paper is necessary.
B. WEST AFRICAN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION: Credits in 3 core subjects, namely, English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies or Life Skills and any 3 relevant elective subjects, with an aggregate score of not more than 24 in the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE.
C. Diplomas and Certificates: Applicants with Diplomas or Certificates from both local and foreign institutions authenticated by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) may be considered for admission.
D. Higher National Diploma: Applicants with HND in relevant disciplines may be admitted to Level 200.
E. Nafti Certificate: Applicants with a Certificate in Film and Television Production from NAFTI with an average score of not less than 55% may be considered for admission.
F. Mature Candidates: Applicants without formal academic qualifications may be considered for admission if they are 27 years old and above and have demonstrable relevant professional experience.
G. Entrance Examination: All candidates including the matured applicants will be required to pass a written paper and an interview.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

i. LOCAL CANDIDATES
a. Local candidates may purchase the Degree Form at a fee of GH¢70.00 (Seventy Ghana Cedis) in Banker's Draft and NOT Postal/Money Order. Cash paid personally will be accepted. The Fee is not refundable once the Form is sold.
b. No Application Form will be sent to candidates who do not enclose the Application Fee.
c. The completed Application Form, together with supporting documents including photo copies of Certificates (which will not be returned to the Applicant) are to be forwarded to reach the Institute not later than March 31, 2012.
d. Candidates should confirm their results with the West African Examinations Council and request a copy to be sent directly to the Institute.
e. Only short-listed applicants will be contacted.

ii. FOREIGN CANDIDATES
a. Foreign candidates and Ghanaian applicants outside the country may access the Admission Form on the NAFTI Website or write to the Institute. They are to send an Application Fee of US $80.00 (Eighty US Dollars) in Banker’s Draft together with the completed Form direct to the Institute.
b. Only short-listed applicants will be contacted.
c. Governments, International Agencies, Broadcasting Organisations and other Film and Television Institutions which may wish to sponsor candidates from African countries for programmes at NAFTI, should attach duly signed guarantees of sponsorship to the completed Application Forms to reach the Institute not later than March 31, 2012.
