Aniwa 2007

Participation

THE 8TH  AFRICAN STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL

The National Film and Television Institute is hosting its biennial film and television festival. The festival dubbed ANIWA has its meaning drawn from the Akan language of Ghana, which is translated as VISION in the literal sense or perception – i.e ‘Perceptions of Africa.’

The 8th in the series of the biennial African Student Film Festival ‘ANIWA 2007’ will come off in July 2007, at its permanent venue – The National film and Television Institute (NAFTI), Accra, Ghana, from the 2nd to the 13th of July, 2007.

The mission and ideology of ANIWA are consistently entrenched in professionalism, communication and the production of quality films. ANIWA also seeks to foster the co-operation between film and television institutes in Africa. The festival is made up of participants from Ghana, Gambia, Nigeria, Namibia, Kenya, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

THE FESTIVAL PROGRAMME

As is characteristic of ANIWA festivals, it is a two part programme running two weeks – first week being a workshop facilitated by a resource person from a CILECT film school and the second being a screening workshop where film and television productions are screened to generate discussions to assess the creative and technical level of work.
