BACHELOR OF FINE ART (BFA) IN ANIMATION

DURATION: Four Years Full Time 

START DATES: September Each Year 

BACKGROUND OF COURSE

In a community of film and television specialisations and a strong professional focus training, Animation students gain two years of training in film and televison production and they go on to do a two year specilization programme in animation. The course offers students options to work in traditional, digital animation or mixed media. The programme is structured to engage students in all aspects of animation production, from concept development to post production.

Our animation programme allows students explore traditional African art and storytelling forms and how to develop this for animation. We provide resources to help students develop their art with strong African content.  

TEACHING METHODS

The department has good working relationship with the industry. The department organises workshops and seminar that offers networking opportunities for student. Last year, the department hosted the African Animation Festival which attracted animators from the West African sub region and animation films from Brazil. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The Department requires a candidate to meet the basic entry requirement set by the institute in addition candidates must have a pass in visual art and a portfolio of drawing and other artworks to support application.
